ARCHIVE:

We're pleased to have Katie as one of our Guest Designers for the month of May. Here's what she says about herself:
I'm a transplant--from a busy lobbying firm in Washington D.C. to a SAHM in middle-of-nowhere Georgia . But I love it! Scrapbooking is my hobby and it's also what keeps me sane when I'm at home all the time now. I've been doing various papercrafts for a long time now, but only seriously started scrapbooking about two years ago. I LOVE to scrapbook about my daughter--she's got to have one of the best documented childhoods of anyone I know. I crop because it gives me a great creative release! Also, I've always been pretty camera happy--my camera bag might as well be attached to me. Scrapbooking gives me a way to use some of those pictures. Right now I like pretty much anything to do with chipboard--painting, sanding, covering, inking, glittering, you name it.
Welcome Katie!

Our next designer this month is Melissa. Here's what she has to say:
I am a stay at home mom of three girls. My hubby and I are high school sweet hearts and have been together since 1998. Hard to believe it's been almost ten years! I had become addicted to taking pictures when my oldest daughter was born. We took two rolls of film while we were in the hospital! It just makes sense to scrap, that and I love the stuff...patterned paper, rub-ons, RIBBON...I am a ribbon freak! As favorite techniques, I sand and ink a lot! I don't think my pages are complete without one or both! Welcome Melissa!

Our Designer this month, Tenaya currently lives in California. She is getting ready to be a mother and is a housewife. In her spare time she does all kinds of traveling, living all over the country and visiting every state but three.
She started scrapbooking because of all the travels she has done. She wanted to cherish the memories and the stories behind what she had seen. This was her way to tell the story, so people would know what the picture was about when she is gone. She also never thought she would have children. She does have a cat named Spencer though. He's her first child and she crops him quite often. He's also quite the traveling cat, going on trips with Tenaya and her husband. She crops those moments just in case people never believed her!
Now, with their first baby on the way she can't wait to document her life journey. She's thrilled that she will have a life story for her child when she is grown. She finds it relaxing and enjoyable to go to crops with friends and meeting new people.
She doesn't really have a favorite technique, but does quite a bit of inking and altering things.
Stephanie has been an Indiana Hoosier her entire life. She loves living in Indiana , explaining that the changes of the seasons are beautiful. In her day job she manages a credit union, but in her evenings & weekends she is a freelance photographer, her passion. She's been married for twelve years this May, and has three wonderful sons, ages ten, seven & five. They are why she started scrapbooking. When her oldest was a year old she bought a scrapbook kit from the television but it was nothing compared to the kits we have now! She has been scrapbooking ever since. It has become such an important part of her life because it incorporates three things she loves; her children, photography and art.
As far as her favorite technique, right now it would have to be altering things! The past month ModgePodge became her best friend!

Our designer this month is Kate from Louisiana . They just moved there from living in Chicago for 8 years! Welcome to heat and humidity Kate! Now, on to what she has to say about herself…
I'm a mother of seven children! Yep, you read that right - SEVEN. I'm not crazy but yes, I am Catholic. I've been married for 10 years to the love of my life. My life is endlessly busy but joyfully full and blessed. I LOVE LOVE LOVE scrapbooking, card making - anything to do with paper crafting. My favorite thing in the world to make is mini books - but it takes so much time so I usually work on 2-3 throughout the year. My scrapping style has changed dramatically this past year. I discovered the world of scrapping blogs and through those blogs I saw so many different scrapping styles. I played around with different products and techniques and I think I am finally coming in to my own style now. And it feels great. My confidence in my scrapping and card making is soaring and I find my pages coming together with a lot more ease now that I am comfortable with where I am with my crafting. My favorite technique right now is painting on my layouts. I find the effect so cool and funky.

My name is Marcie Morgan and I am a SAHM of three wonderful children and have been married to my husband for eight years. We live in an older historical home in a small Mid-western town. Besides the three kids, we also have five "furry kids"!
I started scrapbooking over seven years ago with the idea to make a baby book for my daughter, and have been addicted ever since! I love to think outside the box and try new things and love to create cards and altered objects as well as layouts. I scrapbook for several reasons; I love the creative outlet that it gives me and at the same time I am preserving my family's memories. I scrapbook as a stress reliever also. When I am scrapbooking I am in my own little world and can put aside the stress of the day.
My favorite technique right now is painting. I love to paint around the edges of my papers, and to use as backgrounds for lettering. I am also loving the Heidi Swapp masks!
My name is Selena... I am a SAHM of 2 boys and we live in North Carolina . I am married to Andy who proudly serves as a Submarine Officer in the US Navy. I am originally from Southern California .
I am very involved in martial arts. I am a 1st degree black belt in Taekwondo. I am a nationally certified instructor as well. For my age and rank division I am ranked Top Ten in the World standings for Forms, Weapons and sparring. I will be competing for World Champ in June.
I have been scrapbooking since 1998. Of course I instantly fell in love with this hobby. I stated out just scrapping for me but then this year when I started submitting and making some Design Teams I started also scrapbooking to inspire others. And baby it has been a wild ride and have loved every minute of it. I will also be published in SB Trends in FEB. I also am an Honorable Mention for the 3 Bugs in a Rug DT call for 2007 and will be serving as a Guest designer. This hobby has brought me so much joy and it will surely bring me much more.
